I've had a huge issue whereby my music was being replaced with clean versions from music match. Upon googling, it appeared widespread.
My guess is that Apple couldn't easily figure out how to tell the difference between the two songs and it would be better to piss off people who want profanity than to accidentally overwrite a clean version with profanity.
I am spending this weekend cleaning up my meta data and wanted to try a few posted work-arounds to tricking Apple to forcing to match them correctly.
I discovered that it appears Apple now knows all my music was explicit. I don't know how because I literally did nothing. This time last week if I downloaded a song it would come as clean. Today I delete it locally and re-download it and it comes explicit.
Perhaps Apple simply "knows" I want all my music to be explicit and did a re-switch in their database, since I didn't re-upload/re-match them or anything.
In any event, I am taking the explicit songs while I can and uploading them to Google Music for safe keeping (and also a new local copy as well). I made the dumb mistake of deleting my old music after it was matched, thinking it worked perfectly.
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
